Mean length and width of WT and mutant seeds are given in μm. A Student's t-test was carried out on the mean length or width in comparison to WT for each mutant. t values should be compared to the theoretical value of 1.96 (α=0.05). The number of nuclei contained in endosperm was determined after clearing of seeds at the same stage.
