Double mutants were constructed as described in the Materials and Methods. In 25°C analysis, candidate mat-1/+; mat-x/+ ormat-1/+; emb-x/+ animals were shifted from 15°C to 25°C as either embryos or L1 larvae. Mel, maternal-effect embryonic lethality in which homozygous mothers from heterozygous parents produce clutches of dead embryos.
