Sound pressure levels (SPL) and auditory thresholds are given in dB re: 1μPa. These calculations assume: spherical spreading (decrease of 6 dB for each distance doubled, in m), uniform water of sufficient depth to not preclude sound propagation, no additional scattering or attenuating objects,and background noise below each species' auditory threshold. Vocalization SPLs are for single individuals except seatrout (an aggregation)
