Labeled ligands were injected alone, or along with excess amounts of non-labelled DNA or formaldehyde-treated serum albumin (FSA). The fish were killed 1 h after intravenous injection of 125I-fluorescein-DNA. Values are means ± s.e.m. (N=5).

Ratio of tissue to blood specific activity was calculated as (c.p.m. g-1 tissue)/(c.p.m. g-1 blood). The specific activity in blood 1 h after injection of 125I-fluorescein-DNA alone was 14.08±1.91×103 c.p.m. g-1 tissue, with non labeled DNA 24.24±6.75×103 c.p.m. g-1tissue and with FSA 14.92±6.34×103 c.p.m. g-1 tissue.
