Significant temperature-dependent changes in the mean values for rate of oxygen consumption(ṀO2), critical oxygen tension ([O2]crit) and the ratio between the two at the different temperatures, are indicated by an ANOVA(P<0.0001). The superscripted letters (a,b,c,d) denote significant differences (P<0.05) between groups (A,B,C,D) within a variable. An increase of ṀO2:[O2]critratio indicates an improvement of the capacity for oxygen uptake.
