Effects of 17β-estradiol (E2) on immature female squirrelfish in terms of liver zinc, plasma vitellogenin (VTG), testosterone(T), 17β-estradiol (E2) and progesterone (P) levels; hepatic metallothionein mRNA levels (MT mRNA); and MT protein levels in cytosolic (C)liver fractions. Values are mean±S.E.M. Each variable was analyzed by Kruskal—Wallis ANOVA and pair-wise differences in means were statistically evaluated by Dunn's post-hoc test, N=2-7 fish. Values were considered significant at P<0.05.
