P0 is the maximum force in an isometric tetanus at L0, the fibre length giving maximum isometric force. Vmax is the maximum velocity of shortening. Maximum power is the highest power produced during shortening under constant-velocity or constant-force conditions.

Superscripts indicate calculated values: 1from Q10=1.13 and P0 at 15 °C in Rome and Sosnicki (1990), 2from the other values in the column, and 3from Q10=1.08 and P0 at 20 °C in Rome et al.(1992).
