Cover: CHO-K1 cells expressing paxillin-EGFP were imaged continuously with diffuse light delivery (0.0093 mW × 60,000 ms) for 4 hours while MitoTrackerTM Red was imaged every 6 minutes. Mitochondria appeared perfectly healthy throughout the imaging session despite continuous light exposure and dual-color imaging of a fluorescent protein and dye. Colors indicate progression in time. Summary: In mammals and flies, REs can be found in two distinct states – the Golgi-associated RE and the free RE – suggesting that animal REs are functionally analogous to plant TGNs.
In vivo interactions between myosin XI, vesicles and filamentous actin are fast and transient in Physcomitrella patens
Summary: Myosin XI rapidly associates and dissociates with vesicles and F-actin. This turnover is predicted to be essential for cell polarization and growth.
Multivalent nephrin–Nck interactions define a threshold for clustering and tyrosine-dependent nephrin endocytosis
Summary: Nephrin tyrosine phosphorylation recruits the adaptor protein Nck to form membrane clusters, which are important for nephrin function. Tyrosine mutations result in abnormal cluster morphology and disrupted endocytosis.

The gap junction protein connexin 43 controls multiple aspects of cranial neural crest cell development
Summary: Neural crest cells are coupled by Cx43-containing gap junctions. Cx43 knockdown in the chick reduces the premigratory neural crest cell population and delays the emergence of these cells from the neural tube.
CSB cooperates with SMARCAL1 to maintain telomere stability in ALT cells
Summary: CSB and SMARCAL1 make concerted efforts to prevent stalled replication forks from being processed by MUS-SLX, a structure-specific endonuclease complex, thus reducing telomere fragility in ALT cells.

Optimizing live-cell fluorescence imaging conditions to minimize phototoxicity
Highlighted Article: Additional sample illumination beyond camera exposure time, termed ‘illumination overhead’ (IO), causes photobleaching and phototoxicity. A workflow is presented to minimize the negative effects of IO for live imaging.
