Cover: This image shows Drp1-deficient MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells undergoing mitosis. Drp1 (dynamin-related protein 1) is a key protein involved in mitochondrial fission. Drp1 deficiency not only leads to mitochondrial hyperfusion, but also leads to lagging chromosomes during mitosis, causing aneuploidy. Green, mitochondria; red, microtubules; blue, chromosomes. See article by W. Qian et al. (pp. 5745–5757).
