    Cover: Signalling between cells localises GPR-1, a C. elegans protein that orients mitotic spindles. To determine which cells enrich GPR-1 asymmetrically near shared cell contacts, cells expressing mCherry::GPR-1 (blue) or YFP::GPR-1 (yellow) were placed in contact in precise orientations. Blue cells also express YFP::tubulin (yellow). See Research article by Werts et al. on p. 4411.

Navigating a research career with a disability

Images showing resources which can aid disabled researchers in the lab. Red Dycem tape enhances the grip of objects, such as this 500 ml bottle, making it easier to open bottles and lift heavier objects, and provides stability for fine motor tasks. The height-adjustable black armrest provides support at the lab bench. It can be used to provide stability during fine motor tasks (such as dissections) or decrease fatigue from repetitive tasks, such as pipetting. 

Our two recent Perspectives articles explore the lived experiences of disabled scientists in our community. Kelsey L. Anbuhl and colleagues describe the lived experiences of five biologists who share the challenges and successes of undertaking a scientific career with a disability. Whereas Jack Darius Morgan reviews the literature exploring disabled scientists’ experiences in academia.

Tissue regeneration is a fascinating phenomenon, but the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying regeneration remain incompletely understood. Here, Development has collated a series of articles showcasing some of the most recent advances in regenerative biology.
